Oh, Alice - Chapter Three, "We're painting the roses red"

Boy did I have an interesting day yesterday!!!! I woke up early to go to the Paperific Show but quickly popped onto the computer to check out the new challenges! Oh, Alice Chapter 3 was up - ooooh - this meant I could look for some ideas at the show - especially as I love to find the fun and wacky side of my creativity with this challenge!!! This week's challenge is an inspiration piece - and the colours purple, blue and red. I also discovered I had won last week's Oh, Alice challenge - woohooo - how exciting.

Alas the show was not to be - after picking up my friend and heading across town we discovered the show had been shut down - we had a FREAK hail storm on Saturday with hail bigger than golf balls - check out this photo I found on one of the news sites!!! The roof of the show hall had opened in parts and  they had evacuated for fear of the roof collapsing under the weight of the ice!!!! Noooooooo... The storm WAS pretty nasty - we were lucky to have only one car with some nasty hail dents - many people had floods, power outages, broken windows and more - an insurance company nightmare!

So I went to my stash to play this challenge - with no funky DP I went with plain CS and texture! Since Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps are sponsoring the challenge this week I pulled out one of my Kimmie stamps to use - she's a bit of a cross between Alice and the Queen of Hearts I think - though can't explain the frog on her head - LOL. The giggle sentiment from SU just seemed to suit the silliness of the card.

So sorry you missed out on the show - but if it's any consolation - your card is dahling, dahling!

On the cards sides of things this look PERFECT for the OH Alice challenge blog! Your use of the colour challenge is amazing and your colouring is amazing! On the sides of the hail gold balls OMG that is shocking! I think you should all move to Seymour, hehe! What a BUMMER that it was cancelled :( Any word if they will re-schedule?

So CUTE Debbie!! Love this color scheme together and your flowers and branches are perfect with this sassy girl *Ü* WOW, now THOSE are some big hailballs!! I've never seen any that huge before! Too bad the show didn't happen, but at least that gave you a bit more crafting time eh? YES, loved meeting Lisa, but darn it... it just wasn't long enough! *Ü* She's so awesome and it was just a wonderful experience. Now to try to get back to crafting. It's taking me a bit. LOL. Have a super week Deb *Ü*

This card just makes me giggle - that sentiment is so appropriate.

Pity about Paperific, but think of the money you have saved (or should I say that you can spend at the next Show).

Wasn't the weather crazy, sorry to hear one of the cars got damaged, but glad no damage to the house.

I saw the hail and all the pics and immed thought of all you guys down in Melb!! They had to move the NAB AFL cup match at Edi-had stadium due to the hail storm...and I am guessing that's where the craft fair was meant to be. I am so v v HAPPY that u won the last Oh Alice challenge....I told u so!!! This weeks card is cute and v v funky. The wee image you have used reminds me of the animation fm the kids show "Zombie Hotel". Perhaps it's just the look on her face. Love the colours and love the way the card has come together. Brilliant Job!!! ooxx
